Secretive SNP Government overlooks hundreds of pages of Salmond files after they were made publicThe Scottish Government had to amend 7,000 files relating to the ministerial code investigation into Nicola Sturgeon after just a few days... and then forgot to republish a full batch of the documents! Known as the Salmond files, the SNP Executive published about 7,000 pages on Tuesday last week following a long-running freedom of information battle. It missed two deadlines to make these files public, and faced a contempt of court charge by the Scottish Information Commissioner. Interviews conducted with witnesses by Mr Hamilton were included in the dossier, with Mr Salmond privately fearing that the entire process was "fixed" to clear the name of his former friend turned enemy. Allies of Mr Salmond believe this probe was a whitewash to protect Ms Sturgeon and was biased towards her.
