Mario Gattiker : There were 15’255 asylum applications. Switzerland is becoming less and less a country of destination for asylum seekers who are not entitled to the protection of our country. There is an alternate movement through Morocco and Spain, these asylum seekers does not travel in Switzerland. Therefore, the total number of rejected asylum seekers who obtain relief not to, but declined. We believe that 2019 will be approximately the same as that of 2018, and is expected to continue, with around 15’500 new asylum applications.
