Second suspect arrested in connection with Wortley Village murder


London police have arrested a 34-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a south-end homicide investigation. On Friday, police arrested Philip Scott Pearson who was charged with one count of assault in relation to the murder of 60-year-old William MacPherson. His body was discovered on the banks of the Thames River in Wortley Village on Aug. 10. William Edward MacPherson, 60, was found dead Friday in south London (London Police Service)Timothy Paul Carew, 48, was arrested two days after the alleged homicide. The former City of London employee was seen walking with four other people west on Bathurst Street near Talbot Street shortly after noon on Aug. 10.
