A 21-year-old man, the second person charged with murder in the July 11 death of 19-year-old Hailey Belanger-Weeseekase, made a court appearance in Saskatoon Tuesday. Rene Merasty, 21, appeared by phone in Saskatoon provincial court Tuesday morning. He is charged with second-degree murder and returns to court Aug. 11. A 15-year-old girl is also charged with second degree murder. At roughly 3:30 p.m. CST on July 11, officers responding to reports of a dead woman outside of an apartment block found Belanger-Weeseekase dead.
