Second California fugitive inmate arrested

Second California fugitive inmate arrestedSAN JOSE, California -- A second fugitive inmate who escaped last week from a county jail in California by rappelling down with a bedsheet was re-arrested Wednesday night, after a seven-hour standoff with police. Santa Clara County Sheriff Laurie Smith said Rogelio Chavez was taken into custody at the house of an associate in San Jose. Authorities said Chavez was arrested without incident and taken to a hospital because he was suspected of being under the influence of drugs. Campbell's sister, Marcaysha Alexander, 24, was also arrested on suspicion of harboring a fugitive. In the process, a 35-year-old San Jose woman was arrested on suspicion of helping Chavez hide in a Gilroy motel raided Monday.
