Online learning company Udacity started because Sebastian Thrun, who immigrated to the U.S. from Germany, decided to put one of his classes online. Thrun was well-known before he started Udacity. Udacity has grown significantly since it was started in 2011 by Sebastian Thrun, the company’s president, and David Stavens.
