The Seattle Times soon condemned the former employee and announced that Volodzko was being axed from the Times' editorial board 'effective immediately.' 'A Seattle Times editorial writer engaged in Twitter recently in a way that is inconsistent with our company values and those of our family ownership,' the statement wrote. Volodzko's column - which was about a statue of Russian leader Vladimir Lenin - is still available to read on The Seattle Times website. The former Seattle Times staffer replied back: 'I'm not talking about genocide.'
