When it comes to being identified as a 'woman in tech,' Zuckerberg is quick to explain that her journey into the tech world wasn't one she'd planned on. "Somewhere along the line, I never set out to be a 'woman in tech,' but I sort of fell into it." It wasn't until her brother Mark began 'The Facebook' that she even considered leaving her hometown of New York City and heading to Silicon Valley. Building a career in Silicon Valley, however, was blemished with the signs of inequality women continue to face today. Zuckerberg estimates that half of the meetings she got in her early Silicon Valley days were because people thought Randi was a man's name, she tells me.
