Combing operations are still on to nab the three undertrials who escaped from police custody after gunning down two constables using their service refiles in a police van in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, on July17 afternoon. We are also ascertaining the facts from other constables who were present in the van. We are confident that they will be nabbed soon,” Yamuna Prasad, SP Sambhal, told The Hindu over phone. It appears that they shot two constables using their weapons,” Mr. Prasad said. The three undertrials have been identified as Kamal Singh, Shakeel and Dharam Pal Singh, all residents of Behjoi village in Bijnor district.
