The search for new director general police (DGP) has began in earnest as the incumbent Ajit Singh will retire on November 30 after serving the post for four months. The seniority of Navdeep, who is 81 batch officer, was bypassed by the Raje government when it picked Ajit Singh, who is one batch junior to him. However, political observers feel that the Anandpal Singh encounter worked in favour of Ajit Singh as the government wanted to pacify angry Rajputs. The sources say names of all probables are being considered but the CM take the final call on the D-day. The chances of Ajit Singh getting extension are remote.
