Police were alerted to a hiker who was lost on Mt Taranaki about 7.30pm on Tuesday. (file photo)A hiker who phoned emergency services on Tuesday evening to say he was lost in Egmont National Park has been found. Two search teams went up Mt Taranaki to look for the hiker. He was not injured but had lost his way and there were concerns for his safety as nightfall approached. A helicopter with the alpine cliff rescue team aboard and a LandSAR team went into the area where the hiker was thought to be.
