Scientists discovered it is capable of digesting seagrass as well as the usual meat portion of its diet. They found, however, that seagrass can form up to 62 per cent of the bonnethead diet, alongside their preferred meal of crustaceans and molluscs. 'This is the first species of shark ever to be shown to have an omnivorous digestive strategy.'
