Floral tributes have been left over the days since the Yau Ma Tei fire happened on November 15, leaving seven dead and 11 injured, where five of them are still in critical condition. Citizens including Nepalese were seen laying flowers and lighting candles across the street from the fire scene, commemorating the victims. According to the Department of Health, among the 10 injured remaining in the hospital, two men and three women are still in critical condition, one woman is in serious condition, the rest are stable. The fire broke out on Sunday night at a tenement flat in Yau Ma Tei which was converted into a Nepalese kitchen, where families were celebrating a 3-year-old child’s birthday as well as Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. The closure order on the fire scene was lifted yesterday night.
