The Sea Shepherd is pulling up the anchor on its anti-whaling activities. The controversial ship has, since 2005, sought to intercept Japanese whaling vessels that troll the Southern Ocean for prey. But the Sea Shepherd won’t be setting sail this coming season, its Canadian captain has announced. The Sea Shepherd sought to both stop and document the practice, even as other governments turned a blind eye. According to CNN, Watson and the Sea Shepherd team aren’t giving up, they’re just shifting tactics away from direct ship-to-ship confrontations.
