Scugog snowplow operator faces impaired charge after striking hydro pole
A Scugog man is facing impaired driving related charges after the snow plow he was operating Saturday ended up in a ditch on a Georgina roadway. A stretch of Baseline Road from Woodbine Avenue to Warden Avenue was closed from 7 p.m. until 6:20 a.m. the following day after the truck struck a hydro pole and rolled onto its side and into a ditch. During conversation, officers suspected the 28-year-old driver of being impaired and placed him under arrest. Charges against the driver of the snow plow include impaired driving and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
