Scrub fire breaks out in Central OtagoOther Two helicopters are on their way to the scene as the fire continues to spread. Dozens of firefighters and two helicopters have brought a 200-hectare blaze in central Otago under control. The fire at the intersection of State Highway 8 and Springvale Rd, Clyde, broke out shortly after 5pm on Monday. The smoke from the blaze was creating problems for traffic on State Highway 8, police said. But police have now left the scene and SH8 and Springvale Rd are operating normally.
