A Scottish peacemaker has revealed how he has swapped the glitz and glamour of one of the world's fashion hotspots for the grim reality of one of its most-troubled regions. Mike Nithavrianakis had been the UK’s Consul-General & Trade Director based in Milan, northern Italy, up until last November. However, that all changed when he was appointed the UK's new ambassador to Somalia. Mr Nithavrianakis concluded: "I genuinely love my job representing Scotland and the UK. Our diplomats are proud to fly the flag for the UK in every hazardous corner of the world."
