Staying home in his native Alaska became more attractive to Scott Gomez than pursing a one-year contract at age 36 that probably would include little ice time. "It's so weird to think I'm never going to play hockey again," said Gomez, who ended his NHL career with a 13-game stint for the Ottawa Senators. Scott Gomez is the ultimate teammate. Gomez's most productive campaign was 2005-06 when he had career highs in goals (33), assists (51) and points (84) with New Jersey. The Anchorage native finishes his NHL career with 181 goals, 575 assists, 756 points and a little more than $63 million in earnings.
