Scots prison bosses are looking at plans for a secure care home-style facility for older criminals in the latest SNP soft-touch justice proposal. This could mean sex offenders and murderers could be moved from high security jails to a place where they are more looked after. Plans are being drawn up by officials to combat a growing population of elderly or sick inmates. Hundreds of lags are either disabled or in need of social care which means that conventional jails are struggling to accommodate them. Now, the Daily Mail reports that the Scottish Prison Service are in the early stages of looking at plans for a secure facility which would cater to the needs of OAP prisoners.
