Scotland has been handed a £1.4 billion Union boost to grow local projects over the next year. Scottish Secretary Ian Murray outflanked the SNP in announcing the huge windfall from the UK Government. He has written to all 32 local authority leaders to confirm which projects will get the green light in a huge boost to areas. Among the projects being handed a slice of the windfall are investment zones in Glasgow and the North East which will each receive £160 million. I am pleased that we are now able to confirm our commitment to invest nearly £1.4 billion into important local projects across Scotland over the next 10 years.
