SCOTLAND’S opening day victory over the West Indies felt like a distant memory as they crashed out of the T20 World Cup at the first stage. When it did it seemed to go straight to the fielders and Zimbabwe’s catching was as impressive as their bowling. David Ervine’s half-century was the cornerstone of the Zimbabwe success as they progressed through for the loss of five wickets. ‘Ultimately we didn’t manage to click on the night and Zimbabwe were the better team. There was additional optimism when Josh Davey got Madhevere to drag on to leave Zimbabwe on 7/2 and there could have been a third had Scotland appealed for an lbw decision but for some reason didn’t.
