Scientists rediscover ‘faceless’ fish not seen in nearly 150 years off the eastern coast of Australia

Scientists trawling the depths of a deep-sea abyss off Australia’s east coast have rediscovered a “faceless” fish not seen for more than a century, ABC reported. To be clear, the fish does have eyes and a mouth – but they aren’t visible. “It looks like two rear-ends on a fish, really.”The fish has eyes as well, but they’re deep beneath the surface, and not visible, ABC reported. O’Hara said it was the first time the fish had been seen near Australia since 1873 when a British ship sailing near Papua New Guinea discovered one. “We’ve seen PVC pipes and we’ve trawled up cans of paints.
