(AP Photo) This picture shows a view of the surface of the planet Proxima b orbiting the red dwarf star Proxima Centauri, the closest star to the Solar System. But scientists are unsure if red dwarf stars like Proxima Centauri are good hosts for life. Before the discovery of Proxima b, the nearest Earth-like planet to the sun was circling a star known as Wolf 1061, located about 14 light-years away. More research is needed to determine if there are multiple planets circling Proxima Centauri.
