THE Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DoST-SEI) has extended the deadline for the filing of applications for the Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS). The new deadline, which will now be on November 30, will allow aspiring scholars to complete the requirements needed for their application. DoST regional offices, provincial science and technology centers and network universities were also notified of the extension through a memorandum. The JLSS "aims to support the education of third-year college students enrolled in priority science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses from identified higher education institutions" determined by DoST. They may also be given a summer allowance of P1,500 for tuition and other school fees, P500 for book allowance and P7,000 monthly allowance for two months if summer classes are required under their curriculum.
