more-inNEW DELHI: Union science minister Harsh Vardhan refused to comment on his ministerial colleague Satyapal Singh’s recent statement that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution was wrong and ought to be excised from textbooks. “How can I comment on that? I have not studied biology after Class 11 and there are always revisions to theories — Einstein, Newton (on gravity), and I’m not abreast with intricacies of evolution. He (Singh) must be having some context to his statement and you should ask him. Maybe when I see him in Parliament next, I could ask him,” he said at a press conference convened to launch fellowships and a scheme to encourage scientists to engage in popular science writing.
