BANGOR, Maine - A science festival is hosting a pop-up event in Bangor to get Mainers interested in preservation of salmon. The Maine Science Festival is hosting the event on Feb. 28 at the Maine Discovery Museum. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the event is a partnership between the agency, the festival and the museum. Organizers say the Bangor pop-up will be a gallery event featuring artist Karen Talbot’s “Maine’s River Run Fish” exhibit. The federal government last week outlined a new plan to restore populations of Atlantic salmon in the eastern United States.
