Climate resilience award went to Charles Mureithi who got Sh250,000, Bidii Yetu na Kazi Women Group also received Sh250,000 and Rutto Kiptarus went home with Sh150,000. “The awards are important to catalyse green innovations especially at grassroots level and provide much-needed impetus in job creation and poverty alleviation,” said Elmi. The environmental awards, which were established in 2014 seek to enhance public awareness on climate change and environmental education.
