Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah on Tuesday said that the schools in the province would be reopened with 50 percent attendance from August 23. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sindh education department’s steering committee, which was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Syed Sardar Ali Shah. Parliamentary Secretary on Health Qasim Soomro and the representatives of unions of parents and schools attended the meeting. The officials of the health department briefed the meeting about the Covid-19 situation in the province and also suggested that schools should be reopened with 50 percent attendance. Last week, the education minister had said schools would remain closed till August 19.
