The origin of the email is currently unknown but police confirmed "malicious communications" were sent 'across the country'. Meanwhile, frantic parents were reported to have been arriving at schools across the UK in a desperate attempt to remove their children. Marlborough Primary school in Plymouth and Plymouth City College were among 12 schools affected in the Plymouth area. Parents at one Plymouth school were told by a caretaker the children would not be released due to a 'terrorist threat', according the Plymouth Herald. Cambridgeshire Constabulary added: "We are aware of a series of malicious communications to schools across the country this morning (Wednesday 28 March).
