The ninth-grader, a resident of the district’s Bhaluka upazila, was arrested late on Saturday, said the local police. The arrest was made after a local leader of an Awami League-affiliated organization filed a case earlier the same day, OC Mohammad Mainuddin of the Bhaluka police station told the Dhaka Tribune on Monday. “Jubo League Hobirbari Union unit’s general secretary Hanif Mohammd Nipun filed the case,” he said. On Sunday, the boy was produced in a court in Mymensingh, which sent him to the Juvenile Correction Centre in Gazipur, OC Mainuddin added.
