Judge Mohammad Iqbal Hossain of Dhaka Special Judges Court 5 pronounced the verdict at noon on Thursday. The convicts – Injamamul Islam alias Jisan got jail until death while Tawhidul Islam, Mashiur Rahman Araf, Tawhidul Islam Shubho, Abu Saleh Md Nasim, and Arif Hossain Rigan were given life terms. All the convicts were students of the business studies department of the capital’s Dhaka City College. All the convicts were also fined TK10,000 each, and will have to serve three more months in jail in default. Ayaz had completed his SSC from Government Laboratory High School that year and was waiting to get admission into college.
