A Manawatū school is creating a new entrance way designed to make it feel like a more New Zealand school. Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School unveiled a new large carving at a special assembly on Friday, which was made from swamp kauri found in the Manawatū River. He said when people come to the school it should feel like a New Zealand school. The carving, which took about three months to complete, was about children’s journey, even once they had left school.
