School threatens pupils with detention if they're late on Monday after Euro 2020 final

The hard-line stance comes as many schools across the country are letting their pupils start later following tonight’s Euro 2020 final with Italy. In the message posted on social media the school said: “There will be NO exception for any child coming late to school on Monday, July 12. "In line with our Punctuality Policy, we were merely reminding parents that being late to school carries the sanction of a detention." Similarly, Fairfield Academy in Stapleford, West Nottinghamshire, told all parents that football fans staying up late for Sunday's game can start the school day at 10.30am. And pupils at Salcombe Church of England Primary School in Devon have been encouraged to stay up to watch the game.
