School on lockdown as police descend on scene and arrest boy, 11, and two others


Emergency services descended on Rainhill High School in Prescot, Merseyside this afternoon. Parents reported on social media that they had been contacted by their children inside the school to say it had been locked down. A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “We have arrested three teenage boys after it was reported a 14-year-old boy was assaulted at Rainhill High School today (Monday 9 March 2020). “Shortly after 2.40pm it was reported a 14-year-old boy had been assaulted on a netball court in the grounds of the school. Superintendent Tami Garvey-Jones said: “I am sure the community will be shocked to hear that a school pupil has been assaulted in this way on school premises.
