The man charged with the murder of Lynace Parakuka - whose body was found in the grounds of a Rotorua School on September 7 - can now be named as Jason Wiremu Poihipi. Poihipi appeared at the High Court in Rotorua on Friday when name suppression, originally requested by police to aid their enquiries, lapsed. Justice Matthew Downs said Poihipi would stand trial on 23 September, 2019, with an expected two week trial duration. Poihipi remained with his head bowed - declining to even raise his face to the defence lawyer.
