The boy studying in a government-aided school had reportedly told the Palakarai police that he had played the ‘blue whale’ challenge using a mobile phone belonging to a classmate. However, when the police conducted investigations with the school authorities, it came to light that the boy had given false information. According to sources, the boy was responding well to the intervention by psychiatrists. Police sources said since Alexander had uninstalled the app and reset the phone to factory settings, there was difficulty in determining the origin of the link.
