In an effort to ease import-export through Chittagong, Bangladesh principal seaport, and handling lion’s share of import and exports including apparel shipments, Bangladesh Government is installing scanners at all the gates. According to media reports, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury had claimed this recently even as he, reportedly, underlined the port is being upgraded further and is ready to handle pressure of more ships. While visiting the new mooring container terminal at Chittagong Port, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, reportedly, claimed scanner installation work was underway at Mongla port.
