Richard Mark Wallace​, who used aliases including George Auckland​, ran scams on Trade Me by posing as a legitimate car dealer. JOHN WEEKES/Stuff.co.nz Ron Allen told Stuff he and his wife lost $8000 to Wallace's scam. ”Many of the people you conned money from were not in a position to bear losses," Judge Brooke Gibson​ told Wallace. Allen said Wallace quickly contacted the couple by phone and email to bypass the regular Trade Me system. Judge Gibson told Wallace: “You are a dishonest person and have been for many, many years."
