Grey Cup champion defensive back Marcus Sayles has been released by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers so he can pursue football opportunities south of the border. And that opportunity won’t come far from IG Field, where Sayles helped the Blue Bombers engineer their first Grey Cup victory in 29 years in November. Sayles has signed a contract with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, according to a report on Wednesday. Sayles was worked out by the NFC North team in the middle of December. In 34 regular-season CFL games, all with the Bombers, Sayles made 136 tackles, had six interceptions and two sacks.
