Savannah Guthrie will not co-host Milan Cortina opening ceremony

NBC’s Savannah Guthrie is “set to drop out of hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony” as her mother, Nancy Guthrie, “remains missing.” Guthrie was set to co-host the ceremony alongside Terry Gannon, which would have marked her fourth time hosting an Olympic opening ceremony. Gold medal-winning snowboarder Shaun White was also “expected to join” Guthrie and Gannon in the broadcast booth. Guthrie was “going to stay in Italy for a week to record ‘Today’ alongside former co-host Hoda Kotb." (PAGE SIX, 2/2). Guthrie was also “slated to anchor NBC’s first night of prime time Olympics coverage because the usual anchor, Mike Tirico, will be in California for the Super Bowl" (CNN.com, 2/2).
