BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. File PhotoDHAKA, Jan 2, 2026 (BSS) - Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have expressed condolences to Bangladesh over the death of former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia, praying for divine mercy and extending sympathies to her bereaved family. The King also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family members of Begum Khaleda Zia. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a similar message of condolence. Begum Khaleda Zia, who breathed her last on December 30, 2025 at the age of 80, was laid to eternal rest with full state honor beside her husband Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman's grave at Zia Udyan in the capital on December 31, 2025.
