Saudi Arabia has denied allegations raised in a report by Human Rights Watch that border forces shot hundreds of Ethiopians while they attempted to cross the Saudi-Yemeni border. "These allegations are unfounded and are based on untrusted sources," a Saudi official said in a statement from the official Saudi Press Agency on Thursday. The official condemned the allegations against Saudi Arabia as politicised and misleading. "The kingdom is committed to the principles of human rights stipulated in its regulations, international human rights law and international humanitarian law," the official said. The US State Department said on Thursday that the allegations by Human Rights Watch are "concerning".
