Saudi Arabia has detained at least eight more people, including two U.S. citizens, who pressed for women’s rights in the highly conservative kingdom, deepening a crackdown on political opponents despite international criticism. The latest roundup began Thursday, according to activists and two Saudi officials, a day after several women’s activists returned to court to face charges related to their human-rights work. They were arrested in May while pushing for women to be allowed to drive cars in the kingdom.
