Assam firingJorhat, Aug. 12: Suspected Ulfa (Independent) militants opened fire on a Hindi-speaking group in Tinsukia district this evening, killing two persons and injuring six others. Police said some people had gathered for a puja outside the house of one Aravind Shah when a group of five or four suspected Ulfa (I) members fired at them. IIT reliefRoorkee (PTI): IIT-Roorkee has taken back all 18 students, belonging to socially backward castes, who were recently expelled for underperformance in their first-year BTech examination. Some of the expelled students had approached the Union HRD ministry seeking its intervention. The railway company had sent Gopal Bankatlalji Bajaj the wrong train schedule withthe tickets in May 2013.
