Saskatchewan Roughriders bounce Calgary Stampeders for key West Division win

CALGARY — The Saskatchewan Roughriders rebounded in robust fashion Saturday, defeating the first-place Calgary Stampeders 29-24 in a CFL West Division tussle. After being blanked 31-0 by the host Winnipeg Blue Bombers one week earlier, Saskatchewan handed Calgary its second consecutive home-field loss. Brett Lauther connected on a 50-yard field goal as the Riders grabbed a 3-0 at 2:31 of the first quarter. It was the fourth field goal of 50 yards or more for Lauther this season. A promising Riders drive stalled deep in Calgary’s end when the Stampeders sacked Collaros on back-to-back plays.
