Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall to speak on Husky oil spill

The Husky Energy spill near Maidstone, Sask., put a quarter of a million litres of oil and solvent into the river on July 20 and 21. For the first time since a pipeline leak spilled 250,000 litres of oil and solvent into the North Saskatchewan River, imperilling the drinking water of a number of cities and towns, Premier Brad Wall will be speaking to reporters in Regina about it. The spill has thrown a number of communities into crisis mode, with water supplies being threatened. Wall spoke to media about the spill while he was at a premiers conference in Whitehorse last week, but this is the first time he will speak at length on the topic at home. Wall will comment and take questions at the Legislative Building starting at 10 a.m. CST.
