The day saw several AIADMK MLAs extending their support to O Panneerselvam who tendered his resignation on February 5. Raj Bhavan sources also added that the governor believes he has a constitutional duty to provide a stable government to Tamil Nadu. After meeting 127 MLAs, Sasikala gave a one-day deadline to the Tamil Nadu governor. Whereas Panneerselvam said that he only had the support of Jayalalithaa adding that he was harassed and tortured for a long time. Further aggravating the doubts surrounding Amma's death, Panneerselvam questioned why was Jayalalithaa's niece not allowed to see her when she was admitted.
