The long-running transfer saga involving U.S. men’s national team striker Josh Sargent and Toronto FC has taken another dramatic turn, with fresh developments suggesting Sargent may have played his final match for Norwich City. According to a The Athletic’s Tom Bogert on Wednesday night, sources close to the situation say a heated meeting between Sargent, Norwich sporting director Ben Knapper and head coach Philippe Clement has seemingly ended the American’s time at Carrow Road. Fabrizio Romano first reported that Toronto FC had made a USD $18 million bid for the U.S. international. Despite the disciplinary setbacks, Bogert reported that talks between Norwich and TFC remain active, although both sides appear far apart on terms. Earlier reports claimed that Norwich had received no other interest in Sargent this month, despite reports linking the American with Burnley and West Ham.
