He bred and races exciting 3-year-old Saracino, who emerged victorious in Saturday's Group III Foxbridge Plate at Te Rapa. Petagna's familiar JML Bloodstock colours were carried to Group I success last season by Lucia Valentina and Sofia Rosa. Saracino, who became the first three-year-old since Great Chevalier in 1984 to win the Foxbridge, is likely to spend spring in Melbourne. In the Foxbridge Saracino, ridden by Lisa Allpress, beat home No More Tears and Authentic Paddy, both second and third runners doing enough to encourage connections to proceed with Makfi Challenge Stakes plans in a fortnight.
