Saracens to give Owen Farrell until Friday to prove fitness

Owen Farrell will be given until Friday to prove his fitness for Saracens’ Champions Cup quarter-final against Leinster but Billy Vunipola has been ruled out of the trip to Dublin. Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall insists Farrell will start Sunday’s showdown with the tournament favourites at the Aviva Stadium even if he is given the all-clear to play but unable to perform goal-kicking duties. I think he will be able to kick, but place-kicking is going to be the question mark. He had a good Six Nations and was probably one of England’s best players in the competition. He’s as fit as he’s ever been but unfortunately his arm is still broken,” McCall said.
